System Temperature Monitor by Dirtdawg90 System Temperature Monitor by Dirtdawg90
I went ahead and made a system temperature monitor using SpeedFan, that will measure the temperatures of your GPU, HDD, ACPI, and CPU Cores. There is Black Glass, White, and a Hud.Vision styled one, after mepu's awesome Hud.Vision skin for Rainmeter, in Horizontal and Vertical orientations.

[link]

NOTE: You must have SpeedFan installed and running on your computer (Vista users will have to run SpeedFan as an administrator to output all of the temperatures) and some configuration may be needed to get everything up and running correctly. Place in C://Program Files/Rainmeter/Skins/(Any skin of your choice)

I am working on making one that will output RivaTuner GPU clocks (shader,memory,core) -- so look for that soon.

Let me know what you think!

UPDATE: I forgot to include the SpeedFanPlugin.dll, so its now in the file. Place the SpeedFanPlugin.dll in C://Program Files/Rainmeter/Plugins

Works with both 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions of Vista.

What if someone has a computer with more than a dual-core? How then would they monitor a quad-core?

I've GPU Sapphire Radeon HD 5570, 512 MB, GDDR5. I installed SpeedFan 4.49.

Temperature of GPU is about 50°C, and this skin shows about 40°C.

I don't know why.

Hi. I can't get this to work. it is my first day using RainMeter, so I'm very new to this. it displays the temperature as just 0.0. I installed and am running speedfan; I think my problem may be with the SpeedFanPlugin.

Any help would be appreciated

DO NOT replace the SpeedFanPlugin.dll that comes with Rainmeter already with the one included with this skin. Never replace any built-in Rainmeter plugin (those found in Program Files\Rainmeter\Plugins).

You'll have to edit the SpeedFanNumber value. For me, out of the box, or .zip should I say, the GPU and HDD were wrong. They actually reflecting the System temp and CPU (overall). I had to change the values.

Just duplicate these sections while changing the #: I found out so here it is:
(Add them under the appropriate sections)

X=130
Y=36
W=40
H=1
MeasureName=MeasureSpeedTemp5
Text="%1 C"
FontColor=#FontColour#

StringAlign=LEFT
NumofDecimals=1
FontFace=#FontName#
AntiAlias=1

[MeterText6]

MeasureName=MeasureSpeedTemp6
Text="%1 C"
FontColor=#FontColour#

FontFace=#FontName#
AntiAlias=1

[MeasureSpeedTemp5]

Thanks a lot! Just needed to also change the SpeedFanNumber = "x"
For me (AMD Phenom 960T) the numbers are:
0 - system
1 - CPU
2 - AUX
3 - core 1
4 - core 2
5 - core 3
6 - HD1
7 - GPU

Not sure where my fourth core went but I see it CPU HW monitor

For anyone who cant work out why it is only displaying 0 for them - you need to:

a) Have speed fan installed
b) Have speed fan running

In order for this to work.

As much as I like the skin, to me, its a little pointless if you already have speedfan open....

I incorporated your code into an improved gnometer system skin. You are given credit in the code. You can see it here: [link] . I hope that is ok. If not, please let me know and I will take it down. Thanks for your work!

Hi, I figured out the issue that many are having with 64 bit windows. The plugin you include in the download is the 32 bit version. If you copy the version of the plugin included in the download into your plugin folder and you have 64 bit rainmeter, you will get a plugin not found error.

The 64 bit version of speedfanplugin.dll already comes with the 64 bit rainmeter install so there is no need to overwrite the existing file in your plugin folder. If you already copied over the 64 bit plugin, just reinstall 64 bit rainmeter over your existing installation and the problem should be fixed.

I edited the file so to include the Quad Core Temps. Also I found out readings that you may not know from using Everest Ultimate Edition.

Temp1: Aux
Temp2: Mother Board
Temp3: CPU

Not HDD or ACPI in my case

Having a real frustrating time with this, i have a quad core, created 2 extra files for it and made what i thought to be the necessary changes, i have a 3r and 4th bar pop up but also get this warning "the meter [meter percent' cannot be bound with [tempcore3]!" and "the meter [meterbar] cannot be bound with [tempcore3]!" and i have also installed speedfan into the plug in section, but the temp bars still show nothing but 0.

FYI To all that are having the DLL not found issue! Basically windows 7 or 64 bit is having a permissions issue and it doesn't want to let the dll be accessed due to Rainmeter being inside the program files folder. An inelegant solution is to uninstall rainmeter and reinstall it into a folder that isn't in Program Files - that way it'll allow the program access to the DLLs.

Works GREAT, thanks Dirtdawg!

Err, going to have to retract that :P

I have dual GPUs - the plugin seems to take only from the temp if its in the correct order, IE "HDD" says 57c even though its in reality my second GPU. Would be great if this skin could read which temp its taking from the speedfan plugin!
